Acupressure

A type of massage that focuses on the acupoints. Improving blood and oxygen circulation to those points, balancing the Ying Yang of the body and strengthening the lymphatic system. It is particularly effective in healing and relieving muscle pain, trapped nerve, aching joints, sports injuries etc.

N.B. Acupressure sessions are only available when taken alongside an acupuncture treatment.

Cupping Therapy

An ancient Chinese method of mobilizing blood flow to the skin surface to promote a healing process. The air inside the cup is heated with an open flame, the opening of the cup is then placed upon the skin, as the air cools it creates a partial vacuum, drawing the skin up slightly into the cup. The cup remains in place for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed, localized healing begins. Cupping has been found to effect the body up to four inches deep into the tissues, causing toxins to be released, activating the lymphatic system, clearing blockages and is known to clear stretch marks and improve varicose veins.

Ear (Auricular) Acupuncture

The reflex zone in the ear is linked to several organs within the body. A small magnetic ball is placed upon the chosen reflex point and fixed into place with a plaster. The patient is then required to apply pressure, with thumb and forefinger, stimulating the reflex point, several times per day, for upto a week. This provides a similar function to acupuncture performed with needles. Sometimes it is necessary to apply this technique to extend the effects of a treatment initially performed with needles.

Deep Tissue Massage

When muscles are stressed they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation, which builds up toxins within the muscle tissue.
This massage technique penetrates deep into the muscle tissue. With heavy pressure applied, massaging with palms, fingers and knuckles across the fascia tendons and fibers of the muscle the tension and stiffness felt within the affected muscle groups loosens, releasing toxin from the muscles, stimulating blood and oxygen to circulate consistently. Can also help to breakdown and eliminate scar tissue.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a massage technique that focuses on the reflex points of the feet. Massaging the feet only, the therapist applies pressure to those points. Various organs of the body are linked to points within reflex zones. Reflexology concentrates on these reflex zones to enable the body to heal itself and maintain its natural equilibrium.

Ear Candle Treatment

An all natural process used to soothe the ears and to help relieve pain and itching from infections and other conditions. The process involves the softening of old, hardened ear wax and assisting the body with the excretion of excess ear wax. Relieves headaches, migraine and dizzy spells caused by blockages of the ears.
